Configuring Color Codes

This tutorial walks you through configuring a Color Code for the AI Vision Sensor in VEXcode AIM. By the end, you’ll have a Color Code your projects can use to detect a combination of colors.

A Color Code combines 2 to 4 configured Color Signatures for the AI Vision Sensor to recognize. You’ll need at least 2 Color Signatures set up first. See Configuring Color Signatures if you haven’t configured any yet.

  1. Select Add Color Code. This button becomes available once 2 or more Color Signatures have been configured.

The right shows the Red_Box and Green_Box Color Signatures, with the Add Color Code button highlighted to the right of the Add Color button.
  1. By default, the first 2 configured Color Signatures will be set in the new Color Code.

  1. To change which Color Signatures are included, select the ones inside the Color Code that you want to change.

  1. Rename the Color Code by typing into the Name field.

  1. To add more Color Codes, select Add Color Code again.

Note: A Color Signature can’t be removed while it’s being used in a Color Code. Remove it from all Color Codes first.

  1. Once all the Color Codes you want have been set, select Done.

  1. All configured Color Codes will now appear in the AI Vision tab of the Control Panel.
