This tutorial walks you through how the Propeller Lock works on the VEX AIR Drone. By the end, you’ll know when the Propeller Lock activates, how to activate it yourself, and how to deactivate it.
The Propeller Lock is a safety feature. When it is active, the motors and propellers on the drone cannot turn, all flight commands are ignored, and the LEDs on the drone and controller blink blue.

The
default_flyproject and other projects can be started, but all flight commands are ignored.Projects can still use the Range Sensors, Inertial Sensors, Vision data, Module controls, controller inputs, and controller screen commands.
The Propeller Lock activates automatically when the drone is handled, such as when it is picked up, tilted, carried, or its Module is changed. This works while the drone is linked to a controller and its propellers are not spinning.
To activate the Propeller Lock yourself, press the Propeller Lock button on the controller. This works while the drone is on, connected to a controller, and not flying.
To deactivate the Propeller Lock, place the drone on a safe, level takeoff area, then press the blinking blue Power button on the drone. The LEDs on the drone and controller will change to red, green, or yellow to show the battery level, and projects can fly again.
